What: Domestic violence and substance abuse are two separate but interrelated issues which are pervasive in today's society. These are chronic issues which are punctuated by acute incidents that require professional interventions which are best provided within an integrated, comprehensive continuum of care by culturally appropriate treatment staff. The goal of this course is to provide mental health, substance abuse and violence prevention professionals with philosophies and treatment options to treat women and their families who are effected by domestic violence and substance abuse. This will be accomplished through on-line presentations, additional readings question & answer activities.
