To encourage those who may be thinking about a profession in the addictions treatment and recovery services field and spotlight the vital role a qualified team of professionals plays in the recovery of millions of individuals, the ATTC National Office created the "In My Own Words ..." Essay Contest.
Contest winners were selected from a rich pool of 89 essays received between September 1, 2008 and October 1, 2008. An Expert Review Panel reviewed the submissions and based on specific criteria, selected those they deemed to be:
First Place Recipient - Jennifer Leclair of Springfield, MA;
Second Place Recipient - Amina Porter of Atlanta, GA; and
Third Place Recipient - Bob O’Dowd of Hot Springs, AR.
The contest was held in September in recognition of Recovery Month 2008.
