Educational Event: Part I: Preparing the Addiction Treatment and Recovery Workforce for the Digital Age
This presentation provides an overview of telehealth technologies with an emphasis on how these technologies can enhance the quality of treatment services and increase access. Specifically, participants will learn about how people approach the use of technology and the Internet (digital immigrants vs. digital natives); privacy and security issues; and ethics associated with providing treatment/recovery services using telehealth technologies
Part II: Building a Therapeutic Relationship using Telehealth Technologies
This workshop will provide an overview of conducting counseling sessions using telehealth technologies (video-conferencing and other e-counseling activities); web-based-treatment support options (mobile apps and internet-based programs); ethical and scope of practice issues; and how to promote client engagement when using telehealth technologies.
